Everyone loves a well-dressed piper, it gives any wedding that special Scottish touch. And where better to find one than The National Piping Centre, also known as ‘the home of piping’? The centre has only grade one (ie top notch) professionals on their books, so you are guaranteed the best. These pipers are in demand not just in the UK but all over the world too. As The National Piping Centre’s Gemma Laidlaw says: “Our pipers have played for everyone from the Pope and the Queen to the X-Factor winners. They’ve performed for the Olympic Team and at huge events such as the Live Earth Concert.” The centre’s musicians are pretty flexible too; if they can’t find you a piper who knows the tune you want, they will simply download music from the internet and he/she will learn the piece especially for you. But, as Gemma says, if you’re not sure what tunes you’d like, “Couples can visit the centre and enjoy a demonstration of a few different tunes – come in and chat to the pipers and they will ensure that you get exactly what you want on your big day!”
