Steve McKenna has been a professional photographer for over 20 years, and has shot thousands of weddings in that time. For him, being a part of a couple's special day has many rewards. "To see a couple on a high and to be involved in that experience is incredibly special," he says.
Describing himself as a 'people person', the qualities that make Steve a great photographer are his relaxed manner, good sense of humour and his eye for the finer details. For those who aren't too keen on the idea of being in the spotlight, Steve's strategy is to meet with them a few times before the wedding. "It's good to get to know the bride and groom as this makes them feel more relaxed on the big day. Each couple has a good idea of what they are looking for and we always meet two weeks before the wedding to ensure we both understand each other properly. I find this is the best time to meet because it means it's all still fresh on the day. And at that stage the bride and groom will have all the information required for me to plan the day's photography."
Steve says his style also helps promote a relaxed and happy couple. He offers a combination of formal, candid and casual shots, with the emphasis strictly on fun!
