REAL LIFE WEDDINGS
Stuart Nimmo Photography
Stuart Nimmo has had a strong interest in photography from an early age. After experimenting with photography in school he went on to study the subject at college, before working as a photojournalist for Scotland's national newspapers. Looking for a change of scene, he then moved to Canada, where he once again worked for the nationals. "The experience I gained in the press means I can provide my clients with the highest quality reportage photography," he says. "What I enjoy most about wedding photography is being able to tell a story without words, and the satisfaction of producing images that the couple will enjoy forever."
Stuart aims to take natural, relaxed pictures and concentrates on capturing the day as it happens. But he understands that every wedding and couple are different, and as such will work in a way that suits them rather than the other way round. "It’s their day, and they have chosen me to help them capture their memories. But weddings are occasions that mean different things to different people. By meeting the couple before the day we can discuss what their hopes are."
Stuart has been known to go to extreme lengths to get a great shot: "You might see me perching on balconies, climbing trees, or hanging out of windows... it's all in a day's work!"
