Susan Renée says that photography is more than just a job – for her it's a passion. "It's the thing that makes my heart smile," she says. "Nobody gets to see 'behind the scenes' in quite the same way a wedding photographer does, and sharing one of the most special days in a people's lives is both a privilege and an honour."
As a young mother of two, Susan has been photographing both the big and little people in her life for a long time. Her work has been described as contemporary and edgy, but personally she likes to think of it as relaxed, emotional and happy. Which pretty much describes most of Susan's brides and grooms on the wedding day: "Many couples say they feel uneasy about having their images taken, but then end up really really enjoying the whole thing," she says. "The secret is allowing and encouraging people to relax and telling them how wonderful they look – which of course they always do on their wedding day."
Susan likes to get to know the couple before the wedding if at all possible. "My main package includes a pre-wedding shoot, which gives the opportunity to experience how it feels to be photographed by me and to see the style and quality of the images I capture. Even if I don't get the chance to meet the couple beforehand, it doesn't really matter as I enjoy working with people from all backgrounds and walks of life."
