Scott has been a photographer for nine years now and was recently awarded the title of Most Promising Photographer by the MPA Scotland. He also won the category of Most Promising Contemporary Wedding Photographer in the Scottish region last year.
“I travel throughout Scotland photographing weddings,” he says. “I love weddings because they are so diverse; the couple, the location, the guests… every time all these factors are unique. And of course, it’s the happiest day in a couple’s life.”
With a modern, timeless and progressive style, Scott describes himself as a people-person who simply puts his heart and soul into each wedding. “I’m a relaxed chap and really try to work with the couple and their requirements. I like to meet the bride and groom before the day so we can get to know each other. It’s important so that the couple will feel comfortable with me.”
According to Scott, the types of couples who suit his approach best are those who are “up for some ‘out of the box’, unusual images” alongside the more typical shots. And in order to get those unusual shots, sometimes Scott has to try slightly unusual tactics: “I ruin a lot of clothing because I’m lying on the ground, climbing walls etc, just to get the best angle!”
