Achnagairn House near Inverness has been around since the early 1660s. This brand new wedding venue is currently being refurbished to a five-star standard and is already making quite an impression on all who have seen it. In fact you could be one of the first to marry at Achnagairn as they will be starting to hold weddings in the spring.

Amazingly, considering how luxurious and individual the place is, they still have availability for 2008. There is capacity to hold parties of up to 260 people in the breathtaking ballroom, yet thanks to smaller wood-panelled reception rooms it's just as suitable for more intimate weddings.

On a summer's day you can enjoy drinks in the long reception hall and guests will spill out onto the formal gardens. The house is perfect if you have friends and family coming from afar as you enjoy exclusive use of the whole house for 48 hours.

There's space to sleep 55 in the sumptuous bedrooms, where no expense has been spared on marble bathrooms, Jacuzzis, hand-painted tiles and stunning drapes. Best of all, Achnagairn is the antithesis of all those 'wedding factory' venues – here you’re the Laird and Lady of all you survey!
