Drum Castle is found only ten miles from
Aberdeen city centre and is a wonderfully
intimate castle, ideal for smaller and more
personal weddings. It is found in the midst of
an ancient oak forest on the edge of Royal
Deeside and manages to combine medieval
history, Jacobean romance and Victorian
opulence to striking effect.
Drum Castle is home to a beautiful 16thcentury
chapel, which is nestled in the castle
grounds among woodlands of holly and yew
trees. It can seat up to 45 guests for a religious
ceremony. Alternatively its impressive library
with its large vaulted ceiling, rich wooden
bookcases and open fireplace can provide a
homely setting for civil, religious and humanist
ceremonies for up to 70 guests.
After the ceremony, wedding guests can enjoy
sipping Champagne as they stroll through the
delightful walled rose garden and this leaves
plenty of time for the bride and groom to
escape to have photographs taken and spend
some precious time alone. Then listen out for
the sound of bagpipes leading guests to dinner
in the Dining Room. This warm and welcoming
room is surrounded by a wonderful collection
of family portraits and silver and offers an
intimate location to entertain 50 of your closest
family and friends.
