Over the years, The National Piping Centre has become one of the city’s most popular venues for romantic weddings – with a Scottish twist! Located in the heart of Glasgow’s theatre land, the building itself was converted from a derelict church, retaining its beautiful sandstone exterior, spiral staircases, high ceilings and intricate stained glass windows. The main auditorium on the first floor is a stunning room with unique musical features, its sweeping tartan drapes and contemporary styling showing off modern Scotland at its best.
You’ll be in safe hands with General Manager Gemma Laidlaw, who has worked very hard to build up the centre’s reputation and develop the team now in place there. Gemma has many years’ experience in hospitality management, having worked at both Malmaison and Florida’s Walt Disney World, before flying to Oman in the Middle East to manage a restaurant in a five-star hotel. By the time she was 21, she had already managed teams of staff in three different continents.
At the home of Scotland’s national instrument you’ll find great food, excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere, all within unique surroundings. Gemma is confident that weddings held at The National Piping Centre will be talked about for years to come, by family and friends!
